ReplyDeleteYes, I am compulsive buyer or shopper especially if there's sale, I can't really resist the temptation, so sometimes before I buy something I am thinking first what I am going to do with it, because some of the stuffs I previously got were just vaulted (lol) or if its a food e.g chocolate which is sometimes takes forever in the fridge before I decided to eat it, and sometimes I just noticed my hubby ate it before I tasted it which is good for me. All we have to do to avoid being compulsive buyer/shopper is think more than twice if we really need it or not,..

I'm a complusive buyer because my closet is full of unopened make stuffs and shoe boxes which I haven't used in years! I plan to control my shopaholic tendencies by closing my credit cards one by one and limiting my mall visits.

Unfortunately YES. I'm a compulsive buyer. Then at home, I will just ask myself, "why did I buy this?' and such and such. What I'm doing to work on this attitude is to scrutinize the item before purchase. Hehe. This way, I can have ample of time to decide whether I really like it or not or if it's worth my bucks!

ReplyDeleteI'm a self proclaimed compulsive buyer specially when I'm at a thrift store, I love Ukay ukay shops. I can't avoid purchasing 2 or more items though I know I wouldn't be using them anytime soon. But I just love it.
ReplyDeleteTo avoid this very expensive hobby (though it's much cheaper compared to high priced products) I avoid going out alone, I always bring my hubby with me so he could remind me that I just purchase a new bag or a new shoes days ago. I try to avoid bringing my mom or my sister as they are shopaholics too.

I used to be a compulsive buyer but when my family experienced financial difficulty when my mom got sick I begun to realize that I should analyze my spendings and always think first before buying anything

I think another way to change the attitude of a compulsive shopper is to always think "is it a want or a need".. if it's only a "want" then think again before you buy

Yup, compulsive buyer here! Sometimes when cleaning my closet I uncover tops or dresses that haven't been worn with tags still on them! I guess the best way to stop buying things you don't really need by never leaving your house with a list of things you DO need and enough cash to buy only what's on the list (and a small extra for emergencies and such)

Yes, I admit. I am a shopaholic or better still called a compulsive buyer. Every time I find myself in front of any store, I swear i cant control myself to look for something that i can buy. Especially nowadays that online shopping are in, my day won't be complete if i haven't eyed on something that i may like and will go on buying without having a second thought if i can use it, or if it will fits me well. I got lot of stuffs I bought untouched, complete with tags and plastic. I am accumulating large quantities of unnecessary, unwanted items that makes my closet overflowing Arrgghh!in short i have bought and collected so may things from dress, to bags, shoes and sandals, accessories,which i haven't got the chance to use it.. there are also times that i do purchase food on the net like cookies, cakes, pastries which i know i can buy it in the nearby mall or store( see how lazy and impulsive i am :( )

I wanted to be firm on my goal, to learn how to be thrifty little by little I finally took hold of my pen and notebook to write down all the things that i need to buy out of luxury, just to break my cycle of overspending; to gain control over my impulse to buy. It also came to a realization that i have to save on the future of my kids (btw im a mom of 2boys)and it sink into my mind that not all the time my husband and i have a good work and financial standing. I hope i can continue my goal for a better me!!!

I think I can only stop once I provide everything that they will ever need. However, I'm trying to control it by limiting the amount of cash I bring with me.

I'm not a compulsive shopper. I just drop off boutiques and dept stores whenever I needed something new to wear for a certain event. That's just I think right because of practical reasons. You see, our country is really suffering from poverty and so if I have to buy everything that fancies me, I would never save up for other important matters.
