On Being Lucky

This is a blog about winning. Not necessarily about online contests and the likes but also about life.

I just realized today, that I am a lucky person in career, love and life. Aside from the fact that I have won so many online contests already.

I realized that I am lucky to have chosen this business, 3 years ago and up until now I still manage to earn from it. I am lucky because I have my boyfriend right now, who is doing his best to be the man that I really need. I am lucky that I have my son and my family who stands by me and accepts and loves me for who I am.

Being lucky doesn't mean that you don't have to work hard in order to have everything in its proper places. Instead, being lucky is working for it. You won't win the lottery if you haven't bought a lottery ticket, right? Just like in work, you won't earn a hefty sum of money if you will not work hard.

*Just a though for today*

I am SORRY :(

I know, I have taken my blog sites for granted for quite some time now. That is why I am making this post, saying I am sorry to my blog followers/blog readers/blogger friends and to my blog sites.

I was so busy last month, I think we all are, and just for the sake of blogging, I have been posting short blog entries. And when I say short, it is SHORT.

I want to make it up to all of my blogs and so I will try to find some time to think and write something unique that will capture my reader's minds :)

Goodbye Facebook

I have deactivated my Facebook Account just now and I don't know if I have done the right thing.

I am having a very difficult time in my life right now. I don't know if I will be able to activate it again or if ever I will visit Facebook again.

I have been away in blogging because I have been very busy and I have many things to attend to. But surely, I cannot say goodbye to blogging now.

For those who are my constant companions in Facebook, you can contact me still in my YM and Google account.

My Everyday Eveready Moments

Eveready has been a part of my grandfather’s father’s life and I am not aware of it, the only thing I am aware of is that Eveready has been a part of my grandparents, parents, relatives, my neighbours and my life.

What would our life be if we haven’t known Eveready? That I do not know. Because Eveready has been there, always been there, a very reliable source of energy when all else fails. My grandparents were the first settlers (that is what the local people call them back then) here in a town of Bukidnon. As far as I know (my parents told me stories about how life works in the mountains), there were no electricity in our town before and all they have was “gasera” (lamps that uses gas/petrol in order to produce light) and the big flash lights powered by Eveready batteries in order to have a temporary light when night time comes. There were no televisions back then because there was no electricity; but having no electricity doesn’t mean that my grandparents are not up to date with the current news because they have their AM/FM radio that is battery-operated.

When I was born, my little town has an improvement and that is “electricity”. Yes, now it would be easy for us because we already have electricity, it became a necessity. Electricity provides us, the town’s people, with the energy that we need in order to have lights in the night, to plug and turn on our black and white television sets, to listen to our karaoke player but still there are times where Eveready is still our choice for some of our needs that Eveready could only provide.

Black outs were still a problem, even until today. And I can still remember before I took my final exams in high school, there was a black out and there is nothing left for me to do but look for Eveready and my father’s flash light in order to help me study with my exams for the next day. If we don’t have it at that time, what will happen to me if I have failed the test? Instead of going to College, I will end up taking 4th year high school again just for the brown out. This may just be a very small part of my life, but it can cause a major problem or a big U-turn for my academic life. So, thanks to Eveready for being there always.

There are things that we don't expect to happen and if we are not prepare for these kinds of events we will suffer different consequences, but being ready will help us overcome the fear of the future and thus will make us more successful in life.

It pays to be ready, and that is to have Eveready always in your house.

Starbucks Giveaway

I really, really, really want to own a Starbucks Planner and I haven't seen one in my own eyes. We don't have a Starbucks Coffee Shop here in my place and the very nearest one is in Cagayan de Oro which has opened just last month I think.

I really need your help with this one and if ever I won one, I will be very happy :)

So, how can you help me? Please like Nomnom Club's FB page and then comment on my submitted picture, the picture with the most number of comments on December 15, 2010 wins the planner.

Thank You so much Guys.

More on Black-Outs

Black outs and Lightning were my enemy for these past few days because I simply cannot turn on my laptop due to power blackout and the lightning, the lightning has hit the cell tower of Smart here in my place. I don’t want to get old worrying and having a stressful night thinking of how to do all my tasks because I simply cannot do some research without my laptop turned on. Using Mr. Google to look for me some important knowledge stored in him and while checking and reading different articles I could also read some new products about Christian Dior which can keep my youthful glow intact.

But then again, the heavens have not hear my woes, and when I have asked the Smart Center when will our signal can come back, the person just told me that they do not know because technicians are off duty on Sundays. Dear God, how can I keep my wrinkles from sprouting if I encounter such problems? Thanks to Borghese for a collection of different face and body products that can keep my skin in a good shape effectively.

Too much about desperation and my distress self, I really want to get myself a rest. Because worrying for problems like that won’t get the job done, I cannot change the fact that I am not a technician and I don’t know anything about returning the signal to my cell phone and plug it back and the only thing I could do is to use apply some Clinique products on my face to keep it clean and comforted.

Black out plus No Signal equals No Work DONE

Yesterday and today was the worst day of my blogging life. I know that I should be thankful to God for every day that comes into my life because it is a blessing that I had another day to spend my life with. But I just hate my day yesterday and today because of the black out and no signal problem in my place. Yeah, you read it right. I've lost my connection and I have lost some $$$.

But then again, I am still thankful because after all the lightnings and thunder last night, nothing happened bad to us, except for the laptop charger of my father because I think it was caught by the lightning and it exploded.

Nursing Wanna Be

I am a Commerce student once in my life and I never regretted being one. I used to love accounting and I still love it now, calculators, columnar sheets and pencils were my best friends back then. It never occurred to me to study nursing though my Aunts and cousins (who are nurses) always persuade me to study nursing. But now, I think I want to be a nurse because aside from the hefty salary I could get (if ever I can pass the board exam and work abroad) I could wear nursing scrubs and uniforms that is very fashionable.

I didn’t know that there are so many choices for nursing uniforms and scrubs, I could try pink scrub because pink is my favorite color. A commerce graduate works in an office where the only thing that an office employee could wear is the company uniform, where in nurses have the choice of wearing different scrubs complete set.

Well, I think it is not too late to go back to school and study nursing and wear those cool scrubs!

We Cry for Justice

Yesterday, September 16, 2010 is the most unforgettable day of my family’s history. You might wanna ask why, so I will tell you why.

Yesterday morning my first cousin Kuya Dodo together with his Wife Ate Coycoy went to Tubigon (a municipality in Bohol) Market to buy groceries. But we didn’t think that it would be their last time to visit the Public Market alive. They were ambushed inside their car, Kuya Dodo was dead on the spot and Ate Coycoy who is 9 months pregnant was rushed to the hospital but declared dead upon arrival, even the baby inside her was not saved.

This is a first loss of a family member in our clan, and we just didn’t think that it would start like this. We have Uncles and Aunts who are sick, stage 3 cancers, but survived. I cannot easily accept what happened. They were brutally murdered by heartless monsters. I thought these things only happen in movies, I guess I was wrong when I thought that way.
We cry for justice for our cousin’s death, and we pray that they will rest in peace.

I am PROUD to be FILIPINO

You hate Filipinos for the hostage fiasco earlier this week, right? Then, should I hate Chinese people for the lead poisoning and melamine contamination? Where in not only 8, but hundreds, even thousands have suffered. Is it right to blame the whole nation for a mistake of one man? If you do, then you are most certainly DENSE. No arguments. Just opinion. - - - - Pass this to all Filipinos you know.

I have received this text message last night, I forgot to send this to my list of contacts. I am a Filipino and I feel that it is not right to judge or blame my country and countrymen for what had happened last August 23, 2010 at the Quirino grandstand. It was not our fault that 8 innocent lives were taken by the hostage-taker, it was not our fault so please do not judge us as a bad nation. Do not shout to the world that we should be feared. Do not shout to the world that we are the unsafest country to go to.

I am proud to be Filipino and this I shout to the world.

My TOP TEN EMERGING INFLUENTIAL BLOGS for 2010

I am a newbie in this blogging thing, I cannot consider myself as an influential blogger because when I read other blogs I feel like I am mediocre writer. Sometimes I make blog posts according to what comes up to my mind, just a personal thing, nothing more and nothing less. But after much thought of it, I realized that there is more in blogging aside from joining different contests and a daily summary of what’s happening in my life. I’ve come to learn many things from other blog sites that I have visited and so I have considered them as influential.

My Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010 are:

1. Fat Girl No More- This is blog is like a personal diary of Ria on how to lose weight one day at a time. It’s like admitting that you can’t lose weight in just one night and so she tries to do different tactics on how to lose weight and become a healthy person.

2. Chubby Mommy Me – She is good in juggling her blogging life, personal life, being a mother and being a wife. She is an epitome of a modern day Filipina wife. This blog site will not only gave you ideas of how to lose weight while taking care of your children but also make you laugh, that’s what we need now in our stressful world.

3. Mommy Rubz – Most of the blogs I have visited is owned by WAHMs including this one. There are a lot to read and learn in Mommy Rubz blog site. Working at home while taking care of your kids is not an easy job, but Mommy Rubz could do it with a smile.

4. NOOB- NOOB means Novice on Blogging and I admit that I am. In this blog site, Pehpot shares with a NOOB like me the whats, the hows and the whys in Blogging. It’s like a blogging 101 subject where a NOOB person can learn.

5. More Food Adventures- This is a food blog and as a Filipino I have in my heart my love for Pinoy foods. More Food Adventures is helping people to discover good places to dine in Cagayan de Oro. There are so many good dining places in the city but there are no advertising vehicles that could help them be discovered so having this blog site makes it an advertising tool for different restaurants in the city.

6. Earn Money with Red – Who doesn’t want to earn online? No one. I mean let’s be practical, it is a good way to earn money online and in this blog of Marose or most commonly known as Red, she teaches you how to earn online. The what to do and not to do, posting her payment proofs and scam PTC/HYIP sites in order to warn new bloggers.

7. Wahmaholic – As defined by the owner, Wahmaholic means a work at home mom who is addicted of being one. In this blog, Kaye, the owner, posts her artworks of blog designs/lay-out, different blog buttons, and her everyday life of being a WAHM.

8. SWORD – SWORD is an acronym for Spread the Works, Opinions, Reviews and Documentaries. In here Liz, the author/owner is blogging her day to day experiences which in a way or two could also affect the reader. Different campaigns and advocacies are posted in here which awakens the reader’s minds and feelings toward different situations.

9. Senyorita – By the name itself, you will know what this blog is all about. I am not vain just like senyorita claims to be, but in this blog you can see all sides of a woman.

10. Pinay Online Money Maker – Most people who blogs wants to earn online but there are people who are making online money though lying, scams, and earning through other people’s hard earned money. And so it gave birth to this blog site. In here you will learn where to find good sites to earn money and help you stay away from scam.

Venus Raj - Miss Philippines

Today is the most beautiful day for the Universe. Beauty contest is not my forte though I tried to join some during my college days. When you are joining beauty contest, you should be confident and glamorous. You should choose well your dresses for the event as well as the earrings and charms that go great with it. So check out these earrings and charms that could go well with your dresses.

Venus Raj is competing for Miss Universe 2010 as the candidate from the Philippines. She is glamorous, gorgeous, intelligent and tall. These are the things that a beauty contestant should have. Venus Raj rises from the trials that came her way after being dethroned because of some misunderstanding and by proving that she is truly Filipino made her the best candidate for the Miss Universe 2010 contest that is happening right now.

Time is of the essence. You will know when it is the right time for you to shine and win in these beauty pageants. When we talk about time, watches are of the best helpers. Great watches are here to serve you.

Go Philippines!

Magkaribal - Rivals

I am currently loving ABS-CBN’s new teleserye Magkaribal (Rivals). It is a story between two sisters who have been away for a long time, and when they meet again they don’t have any idea that they are sisters and became rivals not only in their line of work but also in the heart of a man. The sister’s role was played by Gretchen Baretto and Bea Alonzo, while Derek Ramsay played their love interest. I would love to watch Derek’s abs every night.

Quick Update

Today is July 1, 2010.
20 days before my 25th birthday.
23 days before my boyfriend leaves for NZ.

I am thinking of hosting a giveaway for my birthday but I am currently busy spending some quality time with my BF.

This is just a quick post and an update of my busy life.
